With the leaves falling from the trees and the summer heat drifting away, it can only mean one thing; Fall is finally here! With Fall comes pumpkins, football games, flannels, and of course, Halloween. As the days get shorter and the nights get longer, Halloween is the perfect time to throw some of the craziest parties of the year. As your friends and neighbors prepare by decorating their houses and making fun costumes, here is your guide to throwing a spectacularly spooky soiree they won’t soon forget! Putting on a Halloween celebration may seem like a monumental task, but really it can be broken down into three main facets: Lighting, Special Enhancements, and Entertainment. Luckily, Rock The House is not only able to provide you with all of these things, but we’ll even walk you through each step of the planning process! Here are a few of our ideas, if you dare to dream big!

Lighting:

Lighting is a very powerful tool for any event you may be throwing because it allows you to not only transform the look of any space, but also the mood that is set by that space. Orange uplighting on a bare wall is a great way to give your guests a mysterious feeling as they arrive, or use it on some white drapery to make your own wall! Black lights are also known to set an eerie tone, and can be a great addition to any room’s design. While these lights are used to set the room’s general atmosphere, there are also advanced lighting options that will help bring your party to life after it kicks off! Strobe lights, hazers, and blinders are all great ways to turn your average room into a full-fledged Halloween production. Freedom sticks and gobos are some other good additions that can really bring a space together nicely.

Special Enhancements:

Once you’ve got the lighting in place, it’s time to polish off your production with some extra flare. Fog machines are a great accent to our advanced lighting choices, or you can add some chandeliers to give the room a touch of aged elegance! October Team Member of the Month: Dezare’ Foster

Versatile. Professional. Energetic.

Dez is one of the most versatile assets Rock The House has. Our best employees are cross-trained in a variety of positions. Having a team member who understand their other teammate’s roles is pretty powerful. These team members relate to and have a much better understanding of the importance of each position at any given event. Dez has been trained and has show experience as a Dancer, Photo Magic and Photo Booth Technician, DJ, Lighting Designer, and an MC. She is a really great example of how versatile team members are our best.

First and foremast, Dez is a dancer. She recently helped us run our first Rock The House Dance Jam. She proved herself a leader before she was given a formal leadership title. This is important because it was this mentality that helped pave the way for her role as a show lead. Since she had the mentality of a true leader among peers, it was natural for us to train her in the role of a formal show lead.

Dez’s work ethic is another pillar of what makes her special. Late nights, high energy dancing, equipment load-ins and load-outs, and back to back events are not for everyone. The real sign of a true entertainer is being able to put in the hard work and still have fun during the show. Dez is a true entertainer.

Dez’s advice to new team members is this:

“I would tell them its not easy, because it takes a lot of work to load in, set up and put on a great show. But in the moments when we’re dancing or singing with abandon, that’s what makes it all worth while. My favorite part about being on a Rock The House team is the all the knowledge and experience that each person brings, which allows me to learn from them.”

Creative & Talent Director, Ryan Konikoff, explains why Dez was chosen this month:

“Every month is a great one for Dez, but this month we have really seen her shine. From being a team lead to getting tons of requests, and getting mentioned by name by clients in evaluations, her month has been spectacular!”

The Knot Wedding Network – Cleveland Summer Spectacular

The Wedding Networking Event of Season

Every bride knows about The Knot. This wedding publication is everywhere and has been the national source for brides for wedding trends and ideas. Once a year, they put on an event in Cleveland as a Wedding Industry networking event and we were honored to be asked to help. This event was presented by Kirkbrides Wedding Planning & Design and featured many elegant details just like their weddings.

This year’s event was held at the Double Tree Tutor Arms Hotel which made the perfect early evening venue for networking, eating, and even some dancing. The hotel provided Cleveland dishes, desserts, and signature drinks from St-Germain. This was a really impressive looking event for a crowd who are not easily impressed. We provided a variety of lighting concepts including gobo designs on the floor and walls, uplighting, and a lighting designer who worked with the entertainment. In addition to event lighting we also offered our Photo Magic Green Screen as a favor to all the guests. Being able to network with the areas best wedding professionals at an event that we helped create made for a truly special evening.

Tutor Arms Bar Mitzvah DJs

Cleveland Bar Mitzvah DJs helped host a Bar Mitzvah at Tudor Arms Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio. The DJs provided music and MC services for the event. Party dancers were added to get the crowd motivated to dance. Custom shirts were designed and printed by the DJs as well and used as party favors. Event lighting included uplights and monogrammed gobo lights for this party. One of the features that guests really enjoyed at this event was our Green Screen Photo Magic. Guests were able to leave with a personalized favor utilizing the unique theme of the event.

Cleveland Simcha DJs helped host a Bar Mitzvah at Whirly Ball in Bedford Heights, Ohio. The DJ provided music and MC services for the event. They also brought in party dancers to get the crowd excited to dance. In addition to all of these fun activities, Rock The House also provided our Photo Magic Green Screen with a variety of novelties. This feature created very exciting and memorable favors for the guests. The tattoo artist created custom art for guests of all ages. Cleveland Bar Mitzvah DJs helped host a Bar Mitzvah at Maggiano’s in Beachwood, Ohio. The Rock The House DJs played music and provided MC host services for the event. They also brought in party dancers to motivate the crowd to dance and participate at the party. Rock The House lighting also made a memorable impact on the event. The RTH Green Screen Photo Magic provided guests with a favor that was customized and unique. In addition, novelties such as fun hats and glasses were also handed out to guests for them to dress up with. Graffiti Rock! Digital Graffiti Wall

Cleveland’s premier full-service entertainment company, Rock The House Entertainment, rolled out our newest product recently, Graffiti Rock! Digital Graffiti Wall.

Rock The House is known throughout Cleveland, Columbus, and the Akron/Canton region of Ohio for their high energy MCs and DJs. The word is also getting out more and more that our lighting design team is second to none. What you may not know is that Rock The House has many exciting extra entertainment options that can make a big impact on your event.

One such innovation is Graffiti Rock! Digital Graffiti Wall. This technology provides intuitive controls for your guests and engages them in a fun activity for a variety of occasions. The guest uses one of our custom paint can controllers and holds down a button to “draw” on our large projection screen. Projected on the screen is a photo of the guest or any other aspect of your event. Each time it is used, it can be a new image. This activity is a fun interactive experience for the guest drawing on the picture as well as other guests who get to watch it taking place.

Once the guest is finished drawing, Rock The House can print out their work surrounded by a custom digital “framing” around the photo. This frame on the image can include the name and date of the event as well as incorporating colors and themes.

Cleveland DJs and Lighting Team at Josaphat Arts Hall

Cleveland wedding DJs from Rock The House helped host a reception at Josaphat Arts Hall. This venue is very unique for creative and fun wedding receptions. An example of how creative a wedding can get is this Halloween-themed reception. This event had a custom gobo design of an image from the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas.

The DJs provided music and MC services. RTH also provided wedding lighting services for the celebration throughout the whole facility. One of the ways this event was so memorable for guests was the addition of Rock The House’s Photo Magic Green Screen. Guests had fun with friends and family celebrating.
