Best of Cleveland 2013

Celebrating Cleveland

Cleveland Magazine‘s Best of Cleveland Party was one of our signature corporate events in 2013. There are a number of reasons why we consider this event one of our very special corporate events. One reason is that we consider Cleveland Magazine and their parent company, Great Lakes Publishing, one of best corporate clients due to the multitude of events we’ve worked on together as well as variety of services they’ve purchased from us. Another reason this event really stood out was the chance to be surrounded by the very best company’s in Cleveland. Everywhere you looked at this party you would see local brand success stories which gives you a lot of pride being counted in their number.

The biggest reason we were so excited about this event though was why we were chosen for this project. The team at Cleveland Magazine were looking for something different this year and those are circumstances where we really shine. This annual event has sold out at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for years and is one of the most talked about parties each time. A new venue was needed in order to grow attendance but it’s always hard to compete with the experience of the Rock Hall. The historic Public Hall of Downtown Cleveland was chosen for it’s size, flexibility and stage. It was our job to make this space feel like a real party while increasing guest experience. These types of “problems” are what get us up in the morning!

Speaking of the best, we were just one piece of the puzzle that made this event such a success. Event designer Joe Mineo of Something New Event Design once again transformed Public Hall. His talent for transforming the same spaces into totally different party venues is legendary. Like we mentioned, the deck was stacked in our favor on this one. Rentals from Event Source created lounge areas at the event that took advantage of the larger floor plan this year’s event had. Sherri Foxman’s Party 411 Events provided entertainment inside the VIP area that has not been seen in Cleveland and we expect nothing less from them! Another mainstay of great parties in Cleveland also knows their way around Public Hall and that’s Executive Caterers. With over 1,000 discerning guests in attendance, it was vey impressive how much food was available at all times. This truly was the Best of Cleveland!

This event not only celebrated the very best Cleveland businesses but also benefitted Breakthrough Schools of Greater Cleveland (the highest-rated network of public charter schools in Ohio). To help this cause, Rock The House managed the Text To Pledge efforts during the party. Guests were urged to donate through their smart phones through custom media we designed that was displayed on screens throughout the night. The trend of smaller donations from larger volumes of people is really changing how non-profits operate at events.

Another new feature of Best of Cleveland 2013 was our Social Media Displays. We moderated and pushed social media messages from Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Vine that used the #BestOfCLE hashtag to our screens to increase engagement. Hundreds of messages were seen all over which included messages about sponsors and vendors at the party.

Besides these new offering, Rock The House provided the corporate event production services were are known for. Lighting and drapery created the boundaries of the Spa West VIP Lounge where guests could take advantage of their massages, live jazz and piano music, as well as an open bar. In addition, we provided lighting and sound for the party’s main musical entertainment from Faction,  RadioActive Band, and DJ Donkis. We also provided photo opportunities for guests on the floor of the event as well as the VIP Lounge. Cleveland Magazine is one of our best corporate customers for our Green Screen Photo Magic because they understand the impact of branding a favor that guests really love holding on to.

A variety of services, a client that let us be creative, and vendor partners that are all at the top of their fields…Cleveland Magazine understands what it takes to host an event put on by the best of Cleveland for the best of Cleveland.

Another Great Simchapalooza

Simchapalooza 2011

Cleveland’s Premier Event Planning Expo

Wow! We had an exciting day at Signature of Solon this past Sunday at Simchapalooza 2011. Party 411 and The Cleveland Jewish News did a great job creating and advertising this event and Rock The House was honored to be involved. As the presenting sponsor, we had a few responsibilities that made us feel more at home because we were helping produce the event as well.

There were a number of deals and discounts on services available for our DJ entertainment, lighting production, photo booths, and much more.  The talk of the event, however, was all of our new extra entertainment products. The excitement came not only from the products newness, but also because guests had the opportunity to try them out first hand at Simchapalooza! Below are a few of the most talked-about products that those present were able to interact with:

Graffiti Rock! Digital Graffiti Wall – A RTH team member takes a photo of you and your friends and wirelessly uploads the photo to a giant projection screen. Here’s where it gets fun…you and your friends then get to use our spray can remotes to digitally draw on your photos! Once your graffiti image is made, we print your photo with a custom border and can e-mail your photo to you or anyone else.

Avatar: Digital Caricature – We now offer digital caricature artist and software packages. At Simcahpalooza, we proved just how much fun it can be to watch these drawings created on a large screen, not only for the person being drawn but everyone else in the room. Using an iPad to create the faces and a large vertical plasma monitor, everyone is part of the fun! Once completed, these images can be shared with your friends via Facebook, Twitter, or e-mailed to a person of your choice.

LED Ping Pong Tables– There were some competitive ping pong players this year at Simchapalooza! What brought them out was our new custom ping pong table the likes of which guests had not seen. With slow pulsing LED lights and ping pong balls embedded in the table, this game can now be the centerpiece for your next event.

We hope everyone who attended Simchapalooza 2011 enjoyed it just as much as the Rock The House team.  If you weren’t able to make it out, or if you have any further questions, call our office today so we can tell you more about our exciting new services at 440.232.7625

Rocking The Red Carpet

On March 7, 2010 friends and fans of The Greater Cleveland Film Commission dusted off their tuxes and ball gowns to attend an unforgettable event that celebrated the Academy Awards.

In the company of our friends at Pickwick and Frolic and Party 411, Rock The House staff members also celebrated Road to the Red Carpet.

Guests enjoyed fantastic food and sipped on cocktails; all while watching The Oscars on a silver screen of their own in the Theater of Pickwick and Frolic.

The silent auction offered many prizes that were fancily decorated with the autographs of many Hollywood celebrities, new and old. All the money that was raised went directly to the Film Commission.

What did Rock The House bring to the red carpet? We offered photo favors that allowed party guests to get their snap shot of taken on the Oscar Red Carpet. We also introduced a new interactive activity called, Yoostar, which allowed party-goers to cast themselves in the role of their choice, in their favorite motion picture.

We even ran into some great friends!

One of them, Heidi Baumgart, event planner and blog writer of Heidzillas says:

RTTRC was such a fun event that brought the Oscars to Cleveland. From the moment we hit the red carpet, my friends and I felt like local celebs, hob-knobbing with other Clevelanders. I never enjoyed an awards show so much! Can’t wait for next year’s event!

Brian Fortney, Regional Account Executive at Great Lakes Publishing adds:

From the Red Carpet, to the paparazzi and finally to the Hollywood-themed auction items, I truly felt like a celebrity for the night. Road to The Read Carpet brought another dimension to North Eastern Ohio’s celebration of the Oscars. The promotional photo favors allow me to remember the event 365 days a year and constantly remind me how important it is to have events like this in Cleveland.

Throughout the evening, guests mixed-and-mingled until 12:00am, while they were nibbling on desserts and finishing their final drinks. The Film Commission gave Clevelanders no reason to attend the actual Academy Awards. Fun was had and great memories were made.
