Rock The House 2016 Company Party Recap

RTH_Award_Winners

Every week of the year, members of our talented team of entertainers exceed expectations to make events the very best experience they can be for our clients and their guests. For this reason, we have the Rock The House Family of Companies Party; a night full of awards, music, dancing, and soon-to-be great memories! As our way of showing gratitude for all the hard work our employees do every week, we present our 2016 Rock The House Company Party Recap!

The grand celebration took place on August 16th at Camp George Forbes in Beachwood, with dinner being served by Driftwood Catering. Over 110 RTH team members attended the party, which featured a variety of activities including a photo booth, an ice cream cart, and even a bonfire. While we appreciate every employee that comes to our annual company party, there are a few entertainers that deserve special recognition this year. A few of them include Faucet Award winner Nick Lockhart, Renaissance Man Award winner Travis Rose, and the newly-named Rock The House Employee of The Year, Nick Duve.

Also, we would like to extend a special congratulation to one of our lead entertainers Shawn Smutak (Left), who was commemorated for his completion of 1,000 events! A similar award was presented to Selective Sound’s “Jay R.” Rich (Right), following his completion of over 1,500 events throughout his career. The night was closed out with our company-wide DJ Battle, where Matt “Mattitude” Novick was crowned as the winner.

Rock The House is a very unique company filled with many unique individuals, and we wouldn’t trade any of them for anything. Events like our annual company party help our staff grow closer together as a whole, and is the reason our company’s culture is unmatched by any of our competitors. Plain and simply, it is because our entertainers love what they do. Thank you to all our DJs, dancers, MCs, technicians, and executive staff members for all that you’ve done this past year! Great job team!

RTH Gives Back: Giannathon presented by KeyBank

Rock The House had the privilege to entertain at Giannathon – A family-friendly event which raised $25,000 for Alex’s Lemonade Foundation for childhood cancer research. The event honored the young hero, Gianna Andolina, and her amazing family who discovered Gianna’s leukemia diagnosis when she was only 3-years old.

Giannathon is the brainchild of Gianna Andolina’s parents, Julie and Adam. Gianna was diagnosed with leukemia on June 30, 2014 and began treatment on July 1, 2014. After making sure their daughter had the proper care at the Cleveland Clinic, Julie and Adam began researching childhood cancer to better educate themselves.”

The event, which was promoted as a “family friendly dance party,” was packed with youthful energy, love and support for Gianna and her family. We danced, played, and unapologetically celebrated life – just as Gianna has done through her courageous journey.

“We honestly could not have asked for more from Matt at Rock the House for our inaugural Giannathon. He was extremely engaging and had so many people on the dance floor throughout the event which is exactly what the event was all about — raising money for pediatric cancer and DANCING!”
– Jenna Zone Tucci (Gianna’s Aunt)

City of Oakwood Village Summer Camp

DJ Camp Begins with Rock The House

June 19, 2012 was the first day of the City of Oakwood Village‘s DJ Bootcamp with Rock The House Entertainment. Our full-time entertainment lead, Eli, is teaching a group of 9 to 12 year olds from Oakwood Village the basics of DJing for a live event. Every week, the students who signed up for this camp will learn techniques Rock The House DJs use at each event. We were thrilled with this group because each attendee had a real interest in DJing. They had a great passion for music and were really paying attention. Often, with kids of this age, you would expect them to be looking at their cellphones but they came to really learn.

Eli instructed the students how to work as a team by matching sound levels. He also gave them a new perspective on DJ equipment. They began to understand that the DJ rig is more like an instrument than just an iPod and speakers. They picked that up when they had to transition between songs and monitor their levels. Graduates of this program will go on to DJ the camp’s August 10th Dance for all the students participating in the various activities provided by Oakwood Village. We were happy to help Mayor Gary V Gottschalk when he asked us to participate in this summer camp. Our company loves our community and being able to give back while also sparking passion in potential future entertainers is the perfect way to show it.

2012 Pink The Rink Wrap-Up Video

Rock The House enjoys a great partnership with The Lake Erie Monsters and the annual Pink The Rink event is a yearly highlight of that relationship. Each year, The Lake Erie Monsters Hockey team raises awareness as well as money for cancer research. Quicken Loans Arena was awash in pink-clad hockey fans ready for a great time and we are proud to have helped.

Here’s our wrap-up video from the event:

Rock The House dancers had a great time with many of the kids attending the game. Our Rock The House stage on The Q concourse had dozens of kids of all ages dancing, singing, and having a great time between periods of the game. Our DJsMCs, and dancers were able to both have fun and show off their skills.

Another reason everyone at Rock The House looks forward to Pink The Rink is that the entire team is welcome to attend the event with their families. We had over 100 tickets and that’s one big group!  One of our sections was even on the Q-Tube Score Board.

Rock The House also was retweeted on the Q-Tube with this tweet:

@igotrocked: @tweetqtube The best hockey fight is when The Monsters fight cancer! #PinkTheRink

This event is for such a great cause and we are really excited to have been asked to help. If your next event is looking for that something special to bring it to the next level, give us a call.

Cones For A Cause: Autism Speaks at Ben and Jerry’s

Cleveland, Ohio DJ and MCs, Rock The House helped raise money for Autism Speaks on April 3, 2012 at Ben and Jerry’s in University Heights. Known for their superior DJ performances, Rock The House sweetened the deal by MCing and providing entertainment for hundreds of guests on Free Cone Day.  This tasty event benefited Autism Speaks, and is a proud staple for the Rock The House Gives Back program.

Ben and Jerry’s provided the location and delicious treats for parents, students, families, and anyone with a sweet tooth.  Patrons lined up outside with donations in hand to help provide funding for autism research. Thousands of people come through the door for a free scoop of Chubby Hubby, Phish Food, or which ever B&J’s concoction they desire.

Rock The House is a proud to give back especially in the Northeastern Ohio area.  Rock The House selected to provide the support of sound production as well as playlists of music.  Customers were welcomed to donate a dollar for requests of their favorite song.

This event is for such a great cause and the excitement of the customers just fueled the fun afternoon. If your next event is looking for that something special to bring it to the next level, give RTH a call.

Cleveland Culinary Challenge 2011 with RTH DJs and Lighting

2011 Cleveland Culinary Challenge

On November 3, 2011 Rock The House Entertainment Group was once again selected for the Cleveland Culinary Challenge team. This yearly fundraising event, sponsoring The Spirit of Cleveland and the Tri-C Hospitality School, is one of the most unique nights in Cleveland. Where else can you taste creations by local celebrity chefs such as Chef Dante Boccuzzi of Dante, Chef Doug Katz of fire food and drink, Chef Karen Small of Flying Fig and Chef Eric Williams of Momocho Mod Mex?

In addition to the established talent cooking that night, there was also a full team of culinary upstarts trying to prove they have what it takes to be the next talk of the town. The format of the night centered around a concept that fills up the line-up of a certain network: a cooking competition! Very esteemed judges including Susie Heller, author, television producer and recipe taster and Michael Ruhlman, author, journalist and Next Iron Chef judge.

Those lucky enough to attend were able to try a wide variety of items by Cleveland-based Pura Vida by Brandt. Many of the city’s most well-known restaurant and event industry leaders were present marking this event as one not to miss. Other highlights included Martini samples by Cleveland-based Crav Vodka, a variety of wines, and selections of small-batch Goose Island Beers.

Rock The House was very glad to continue to be part of the team that created this wildly successful and unique event.

By: Jessa (Goodworth) Hochman

For the past year and a half – Rock The House has starting implementing an initiative called, “Rock The House Gives Back.” We know that in Cleveland and around the world, one of the best ways to raise funds is to host extraordinary events. When we received a call from Dogs Unlimited Rescue Organization, we had to jump on board.

muttsquerade_ball

On Sunday, September 19th 2010, Dogs Unlimited Rescue hosted its 1st annual Muttsquerade Ball at Moxie, The Restaurant. The MC for the night was Cleveland’s own, Stefani Schaefer, Anchor and Host of Fox 8 News in the Morning. Michael Stanley and Jennifer Lee filled the event with entertainment and music.

The event featured an outstanding raffle selection – three trips from Naples, to Traverse City to Key West were given away! On top of these prizes, guests were also invited to bid on silent auction items. According to event chair – Gina Lutes – The event ended up raising approximately $40,000! To know how these funds will be used, read the organization’s mission statement below:

Dogs Unlimited Rescue, Inc. is an all volunteer non-profit organization that is dedicated to educating the public and saving abused and neglected animals from an uncertain fate. Our organization rescues animals from high kill shelters, abuse or neglect cases, owner surrenders, and the breeding parents in puppy mills that would otherwise be inhumanely disposed of. We improve their lives by providing quality care and placement into permanent loving homes. We will continue to educate, rescue, and rehabilitate and encourage the adoption of pets from shelters and rescue groups.

Lead MC for the night, Tim Frankish, says:

Amazing food, amazing drinks and amazing company. Over 200 supporters come out to the 2nd annual Muttsquerade event held at Moxie. Special musical guest Michael Stanley performed as people enjoyed several food and drink stations. Stefani Schaefer was the special guest host and also serves as a member of the Dogs Unlimited Rescue Organization,. Lot’s of auction items and donations were given to help dogs that need either medical attention, homes or just every day supplies.

For the 2010 Hockey Season, Rock The House jumped on board as the official entertainment partner of Cleveland’s Own Lake Erie Monsters to bring entertainment, music and dancing to their exciting and enjoyable family events.

The Monsters and Rock The House make a great team because we share the same love for themed-events and we both enjoy a great celebration.

We motivate Monsters’ fans at every hockey game, including the unforgettable Twilight Night, Country Concert Night, and Bring your Dog to the Ice Night!

We had a blast rocking out with The Monsters all season long, but our proudest moment with them would have to be Pink The Rink… It all began at 2009’s event which supported the Susan G. Komen Foundation for the Cure. 2010’s event supported the Amercian Cancer Society and raised more than $15,000. 20+ Rock The House Staff members donated their time and spirit to these remarkable events.

Rock The House Gives Back!

Being Northeast Ohio’s premiere entertainment company for Mitzvah’s, Weddings and Corporate functions doesn’t come without a fair share of responsibility. Sure, we at Rock The House Entertainment are responsible for 100 percent client satisfaction, the well-beaing of our talented employees and those pesky financial responsibilities that allow us to keep an ‘OPEN’ sign in the window, but RTH, too, feels a philanthropic responsibility that connects us to the community which has generously embraced us for over the past 10 years. With that, ‘RTH Gives Back’ was born.

Demonstrating compassion and desire to help others, RTH Gives Back contributions include at-cost services, discounted packages, and other donations to community events.  Each of our staff members willingly participate by offering their time and commitment to these efforts. Most recently, RTH Gives Back took on ‘Spinfest.’

For the 2nd year in a row, RTH donated its time and services to raise money for the Free Clinic. “Spinfest” features more than 50 bikes each crankin’ away for over two hours while Rock The House’s very own CEO and Founder  Matt “Hadder” Radicelli spun the music in his own way.

20373_461163915392_784060392_10895869_270517_nRacicelli says, “Even in the wake of a perceived recession, our employees never cease to amaze me. They continually step up to the plate for the many charity functions of RTH Gives Back. It’s a true testament that not only does Rock The House have the best interactive entertainers in the business, but also the biggest hearts. As a CEO, as well as a community member, I couldn’t be prouder.”

Other notable RTH Gives Back events of 2009 included ‘Pink The Rink’  where 20 RTH staff members volunteered their time at the Quicken Loans Arena to perform during a Lake Erie Monsters game.22450_315278376419_298117391419_5296776_6099366_n

At ‘Menorah Park Dance-A-Thon,’ kids and elders alike danced the day away to music spun by RTH DJ’s in an effort to raise money for the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital. “Market Underglass” is a fundraiser for the Cleveland Foodbank. RTH donated sound design, digital signage and ‘Photo Magic.’ The list goes on…

Look for Rock The House to be Giving Back at these events and plenty more in 2010. For more information on RTH Gives Back or to request that Rock The House Gives back to your event, visit ROCK THE HOUSE online or call 440.232.7625.

Cleveland Entertainment – Reflecting on the Past, Looking to the Future

Rock The House Entertainment recently held its Q4 meeting to reflect on the past few months of Cleveland Corporate Events, Cleveland Weddings, Cleveland Bar Mitzvahs & Cleveland Bat Mitzvahs, and to get ready for the exciting first quarter of 2010.

The day began as the RTH emcees got together to talk in detail about the quality of their recent events, interaction with their clients, and ways to improve their performances and overall level of service. By the end of the emcee meeting, two things were abundantly clear:

1. RTH Emcees care about their clients and they are passionate about the work they do.

2. RTH Clients are consistently noticing #1.

The emcee meeting was followed up with the Annual Employee Holiday Luncheon. Nearly 50 RTH DJs, Emcees, Party Motivators / Dancers, Technicians & Office Staff members shared a meal and had a chance to mingle before getting down to business.

Ryan Konikoff, Rock The House Creative & Talent Director, led the meeting as he introduced 5 new staff members.

Matt Radicelli, company founder / owner, thanked everyone for their hard work and dedication, then pointed out that while it’s important all year long, during the holidays, it’s especially important to be thankful of our family and friends. Without them we are nothing; and we should never  take them for granted. Radicelli then awarded Steve Tanruther the “Employee of the Quarter Award” in recognition of his hard work and dedication in getting the company’s new event management & scheduling software online – a step that has drastically increased the efficiency of the office and has added convenient online tools for our clients.

The group then reviewed the past few months, discussing successes and areas needing improvement, changes and additions to company policy, upcoming Rock The House Gives Back events, safety training, and finally continued education & testing.

Each RTH employee was asked to demonstrate their skill sets in a do-or-die, pass / fail environment. Any employee that did not pass their tests is to be retrained, and retested before they can be scheduled.

The day finished up with the Rock The House Party Motivators holding dance practice. After the group finished their warm ups and reviewed their routines & sequences, it wasn’t long before they circled up and had a freestyle jam session.

The Q4 meeting was a huge success. 2010 here we come.
