Cleveland, Ohio – March 13, 2012 – Clear Channel Media and Entertainment is pleased to announce CHARDON HIGH SCHOOL as the winner of the 2012 ROCK YOUR PROM contest.  The voting based contest on began with a nomination process on February 13th and concluded with Chardon High School as top vote getter on March 12th at Noon.

Chardon High School recently suffered extreme tragedy on February 27th, when a school shooting killed 3 students and injured multiple more.  Their healing process has begun and KISS FM, Rock the House, and American Commodore Tuxedo are pleased to aid in the process with this $5,000 prom package.

“Students from competing high schools banded together, campaigning online for Chardon High School to win this prize,” said Bo Matthews, Program Director for 96.5 KISS FM (WAKS).  “It shows the good will that exists in Northeast Ohio. The message we saw the most was VOTE for CHARDON – They deserve it.”

Through the campaigning of students in multiple area schools, Chardon High School racked up over 50,000 votes, which tallied over 70% of all votes cast.  Students from multiple schools banded together and created Facebook pages dedicated to ensuring a victory for Chardon High School.  A Google search also shows multiple websites, from local businesses, to several bloggers, to YouTube videos, and even re-tweets from Cleveland Indians closer Chris Perez, all campaigning for votes for Chardon High School.

“We are all healing with the Chardon community,” said Matt Radicelli, Owner of Rock The House Entertainment Group.  “Rock the House is humbled by the outpouring of votes for Chardon High School to win this prize and we promise to give them the best prom ever.”
