This October we’re excited to showcase Bryan Wolbert as our ROCKstar of the month! Bryan has been with Rock the House for almost three years now working as an audio technician on our production team.
Bryan has grown alongside Rock the House over the past few years and has truly shined as we have continued to add more and more hotel and corporate events. He is regularly found supporting Cleveland’s many event centers and ballrooms, meeting and surpassing client A/V needs and expectations.
“It’s nice to be recognized for the time and effort you put into your job. It’s not ultimately needed but nice to be noticed for your hard work.” – Bryan Wolbert, ROCKstar of the Month
Bryan’s family is what motivates him to be his best and when he isn’t at work or Chipotle, he can be found spending time with his two sons, Clay and Evan. Bryan is a cherished and respected member of the Rock the House family and our events would not be the same if it wasn’t for all his incredible hard work and dedication!
“Bryan has been with the team for roughly two and a half years and quickly moved to one of our top Audio Engineers. He is a hard worker with a ‘get it done’ mentality that pushes teams to make it home before Chipotle closes.” – Ben Allison, Director of Human Development
Congratulations again to Bryan on being October’s ROCKstar of the Month! Interested in working with Bryan at your next event? Contact our team of event professionals today to get started! Photos courtesy of the Rock The House Photo Archive.
Our ROCKstar of the Month for June is the one and only Kelly Clymer! Since joining the RTH team about 4 years ago, Kelly’s role has evolved from a skilled dancer and party motivator to a ROCKstar MC and team leader capable of handling nearly any event situation.
One of Rock The House’s strongest female MCs, Kelly has represented our team on multiple occasions on high-profile, out of town shows ranging from Columbus to Virginia Beach, and even for the JACK Casino grand opening here in Cleveland. When she’s not at a Rock The House show, you can most likely find Kelly spending her days at the Cleveland Ballet Conservatory (where she has recently stepped into the role of Assitant Director).
“Seeing all the clients, guests, and other people having fun at an event… It makes me super excited to know that’s my job!” – Kelly Clymer, ROCKstar of the Month
A born entertainer, Kelly is a prime example of a true event professional. From coordinating with other vendors at a wedding, to keeping kids engaged at a school dance, there isn’t much this ROCKstar can’t do!
“No matter the role she is playing on an event, Kelly exemplifies the qualities and standard we wish of every RTH family member. In addition to that, she is always pushing her surrounding teammates to those same standards.” – Ben Allison, Director of Human Development
Congratulations again to Ms. Clymer for being this June’s ROCKstar of the Month! Interested in working with Kelly at your next event? Contact our team of event professionals today to get started! Photos courtesy of the Rock The House Photo Archive.
Since 2012, our team at Rock The House has partnered with 96.5 KISS FM to bring an extravagant night to one lucky school for prom. Each year, thousands of students nominate their school to win, and the school that receives the most votes is deemed the winner of an ultimate prom package valued at $5,000. This year’s winner was Brookside High School, who received the most votes of any school in the campaign’s 6-year history.
Around 6:00 pm students started pouring into North Olmsted’s Springvale Ballroom ready to witness a night that they would never forget. After enjoying an exquisite dinner from the Springvale Ballroom staff, the Brookside students were ready to get ROCKED. As soon as KISS FM DJs Party Pana and Mattitude hit the stage, a crowd of students swarmed the dance floor ready to jam.
State-of-the-art dance floor lighting and audio were just a few of the incredible features our team provided for this incredible night. Brookside’s students danced the night away as one of our skilled Lighting Designers lit the venue up and the DJs spun their favorite tunes, creating a memorable prom experience the students will remember for a lifetime. Another prom, ROCKED.

This May we are happy to shine the ROCKstar of the Month spotlight on Brian Raymont, one of our many talented MCs! No matter what happens while he’s at an event, Brian is always ready to adjust and puts nothing before the event and needs of our customers.
Specializing as a wedding MC for Rock The House (RTH Weddings) for 3 seasons now, Brian’s enthusiasm on the microphone captivates the audience’s attention at every show and ensures that the energy of the room is always at an all-time high. Working hard to facilitate his events and keep all scheduled formalities on time week in and week out, both Brian’s organizational and interpersonal skills are among some of the best on our team.
“At every event I do, I treat it like game 7 of the NBA Finals; You’re never gonna get another chance to have a perfect wedding and to go for the gold. Anytime I get to work with our other great entertainers… Or anytime you can win a game 7 and have a great night, you have it made. It’s the best job in the world.” – Brian Raymont
When not performing with Rock The House on the weekends, Brian prefers relaxing and spending time with his wife Erin. Additionally, Brian also serves as the Assistant Atheltic Director at Padua Franciscan High School and has received both his Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Studies and Master’s Degree in Arts in Education and Sports Administration during his time spent at The University of Akron.
“The lengths Brian goes to guarantee our clients’ satisfaction are unmatched. That surely has something to do with the constant praise we get from past couples who have worked with him.” – Ben Allison, Director of Human Development
Congratulations again to Brian for being awarded ROCKstar of the Month for May and for being an invaluable asset to our team! Interested in working with Brian for your next event? As we slowly ramp up into our busy summer season, we find it only fitting that RTH Technician Clay Sullivan is awarded our April ROCKstar of the Month award! Clay is currently a student at Kent State University and has been a part of the Rock The House family for about a year now. While ROCKstar of the Month is usually reserved for more of our veteran ROCKstars, Clay’s knowledge, skill, and diligence make him more than worthy of this title.
“Clay has an incredibly strong work ethic and is always a team player. If you have something that needs to get done, Clay is definitely the guy.” – Ben Allison, Director of Human Development
Clay is an audio pro and does many different tasks, including assisting with working sound for Rock The House Live!’s band practices and live shows. Holding near and dear to our world-class customer service standards, Clay is known for doing whatever it takes to make our clients’ events a success each and every week!
“I really enjoy working with such a diverse group of people, and learning skills that will help me with my college major: Digital Media Production.” – Clay Sullivan
We thank Clay for all the hard work he puts in at every time he’s with our team, and congratulate him again on his ROCKstar of the Month award! From miscellaneous shop tasks to live event production, Clay is always eager and ready to help out any way he can!
This month’s ROCKstar of the Month is Alascia Jones, all-around ROCKstar at Rock The House! In recent years, Alascia has helped keep the office running smoothly by handling a lot of RTH’s daily tasks, working with our clients to ensure that everything is perfect for their events, and even helping the rest of our team prepare for their shows each and every weekend.keep
Alascia joined the Rock The House family in August of 2014, and has since proved to be an invaluable asset to our team. Serving as the Director of Special Projects of the International Live Events Association’s local Cleveland Chapter Board, it was clear to tell that Alascia was an excelling event professional from the start. Always ambitious and ready for the next challenge, Alascia has become an expert at any role she’s performed throughout the company.
“Alascia is such a ROCKstar! With her ability to ‘multi-switch’ and her ‘ready to learn’ mentality, she has not only become an expert in all the areas in which she was hired, but she continues to pick up additional projects and tasks to assist our team in moving forward! We’re so happy that she is spreading her wings, but we will miss certainly miss her in the process!” – Amy Van Duyne, CSEP & Executive Assistant to the CEO
As of late, Alascia has accepted a new position in the event industry to further grow herself and her career. However, she is more than deserving of our distinction of our ROCKstar of the Month award, and we wish her nothing but the best in all of her future endeavors.

Our second ROCKstar of the Month for 2017 is far from a rookie. Shawn Smutak has been a part of the Rock The House family since 2003, and is one of the only RTH team members to have completed over 1,000 shows during his time with us.
Since originally starting out at the age of 13 as a dancer, Shawn has truly become a “jack of all trades” here at Rock The House. From acting as an MC and Lead Entertainer on dozens of shows each year, to working in the warehouse as a Shop Hand during the week, Shawn’s diversity and dedication make him a strong asset to nearly any event-related situation. Even now in 2017, Shawn continues to excel and has already received 5 “Excellent” ratings from different clients he’s worked with… Not bad, considering we’re only about 8 weeks into the new year!
“Shawn is a long time member of our entertainment team at RTH, as well as being one of our top requested Emcees. He continues to improve his craft and deliver memorable nights for clients, week in and week out.” – Ben Allison, Talent Director
After nearly a decade and a half of service at Rock The House, there aren’t too many events that Shawn hasn’t successfully ROCKED. Whether it’s a bar mitzvah, wedding, school dance, or corporate event, Shawn has proved that he can excel and lead a team in nearly any kind of environment. In fact, he is even notorious for “running into” repeat clients as the years go on.
“Somewhere along the way in the 14 years I’ve been here doing this, I’ve gone full circle. I started doing some kids’ simchas… Then I’ve moved on to ROCK their school dances, and now I’m doing these same kids’ weddings. It’s crazy to see how Rock The House, myself, and even events in general, can have that sort of influence on somebody’s life.” – Shawn Smutak
We would like to send a big thanks to Shawn for all the hard work he has done for our team over the years, and we look forward to continuing to work with him for many more to come! Last month, RTHAV partnered with State Industrial Products for their most recent sales conference. While their headquarters are based out of Cleveland, State Industrial’s products are utilized all over North America, and their sales departments stretch to the far ends of the United States. With such a diverse sales team coming together in one place, and over 100 years worth of business in the books, our team knew they certainly had their work cut out for them with this event.
Taking place every two years, this 3-day conference consisted of many different seminars and activities for State Industrial employees. The first two days were all business, as guests attended various sales meetings and breakout sessions to continue building up their skillset and sales repertoire. While this may sound like any old company retreat so far, attendees were in awe of the spectacle that awaited them inside the Grand Ballroom of the Cleveland Renaissance Hotel. RTHAV’s skilled lighting designers used several-colored washes to add character to the massive space, which were programmed to move on various cues between presentations and during the awards banquet that took place on the second night of the conference. RTHAV also overtook the stage, equipping it with a gigantic 18′ x 32′ AV Stumpfl projection screen to display various media such as PowerPoint presentations, videos, and more from a Christie Boxer 4K30 projector. A lectern was also centered on the stage for keynote speakers, whose message bellowed through the speaker stacks that hung above and made it nearly impossible for guests to ignore.
After the closing remarks and final breakout sessions on the 3rd day, it became clear that there was only one thing left to do… Have a good time! As guests filed back into the main room, they were greeted with a wide assortment of giant, classic games like Connect Four, Light Brite, and even a 13′ Foosball Table that allowed for over a dozen players at once! RTHAV also supplied a coinless-claw machine filled with party favors, our signature 4-player Rock Shots Basketball, our virtual SportsZone gaming system and a photo booth with a customized props. The final celebration was capped off with music by our own DJ, Mattitude, mixing live for a vibrant dance floor on our all new Touch Screen DJ System.
Focused around the theme “Inspire”, it was clear that the message of the conference resonated with State Industrial employees as they headed home that Sunday evening. After a long weekend filled with excitement, fun, and necessary business, the entire State Industrial management team was relieved to know that this imperative conference was truly a great success. That wondrous feeling is surely one of the many reasons that the company chose to work with RTHAV once again after years of continued service. A direct result of our team’s attention to detail, dedication to their work, and their ability to not only get a job done… But get it done well!
With so many large events happening for us in January, it only makes sense that our first ROCKstar of the Month for 2017 is one of our top project managers, Cory Shy! Cory has been an RTH team member for 6 years now, originally starting as a part-time technician and continuing to work his way up to more leadership roles through our production sector, RTHAV.
A renaissance man of the production world, Cory is well-versed in many different fields ranging from video, to lighting, to audio. Most recently, Cory has taken full control of the Today’s Bride Wedding/Fashion Shows. With Rock The House (RTHAV) acting as the official production partner for these shows, there are a lot of moving parts involved in making an event of this magnitude come alive. However, having proven his responsibility and leadership skills time and time again, Mr. Shy handles projects like this without a hitch by expertly directing fellow team members to ensure everything runs at company standards.
“Cory’s a terrific team member to have and a great part of our roster. He continues to increase his responsibilities so that as we grow, we grow together.” – Ben Allison, Production Manager
Regardless of all his accomplishments during his time at Rock The House, Cory continues to credit our team for contributing to his success.
“I’d be nothing without the people that guide me… The people who have taught me, work alongside me, and have helped me achieve the level of production our shows have, and require. I wouldn’t be where I am without them… It’s a big group effort. – Cory Shy
Congratulations to Cory again on being awarded the ROCKstar of the Month, and we thank him again for all his hard work, dedication, and service! Rock The House makes dream weddings a reality for hundreds of couples each year. However, it’s not every day that one of those couples is a member of our team! A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of helping our own Marketing Manager, Nick Duvé and his husband, Stephen Duvé, celebrate one the best nights of their lives in one of the greatest weddings productions we’ve ever put on.
As a former DJ and Host at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida and a connoisseur of ‘Fairytale Weddings’, as well as his time spent with us at Rock The House, Nick has seen just about any wedding possibility you could think of. That all being said, Nick had gathered plenty of ideas for his own wedding throughout his years in the industry… and he had all the resources to make them happen. With the help of Meredith Masaveg of Rain Wedding Planning, Nick and Steve began planning their big day.
“This wedding was much more then just about Steve and I. It was about celebrating all of the friends and family who have helped us along our journey. We wanted to give them an experienced they will never forget and with the help of some very talented vendors, and I think we accomplished that”. – Nick Duve
The Duvés decided that the Akron Art Museum was the perfect location for both their wedding ceremony and reception to take place. An already stunning venue, Rock The House provided full production and lighting work throughout the museum, while our sister company Selective Sound Entertainment provided ceremony services, with Vice President “Jay R.” Rich as the officiant and first DJ. Chairs the wedding and reception were provided by Be Seated. After the ceremony guests were invited onto an outdoor dancefloor for cocktail hour, before stepping inside the newly-transformed art museum for the dinner reception.
A beautiful ceremony is only complimented by an unbelievable reception, and that became no clearer to guests than when they first stepped inside the building. After a 5-star dinner provided by Driftwood Catering and frosty desserts brought by Mason’s Creamery, guests were personally invited once again onto the outdoor dancefloor by Nick and Steve for their first dance and formalities. However after a short time of dancing, guests were stopped by RTH MC Sparky B. and invited back inside the building for a very special surprise from Nick and Steve. The Duvé’s weren’t done quite yet.
When guests arrived back inside, they were in awe to see a Vegas-inspired dance club, which had been in plain view the whole time, but simply hidden behind a wall of drapery! The perfect light show was coordinated by an RTH lighting designer as Sparky B. continued to hype up the crowd! Lights were only the beginning, as the Duvés surprised their friends and family with music by celebrity DJ Brian Dawe of VH1 & MTV! The night to remember was all captured on film by Matt Reisinger of Elite Entertainment, and still-frame images were shot by Marc Anthony & Tony Ryan Photography. Special thanks also go out to L’Nique Linen Rental, Nikki’s Perfect Petal Designs, Paul Mitchell the School: Cleveland, and Justin Campbell from the Akron Art Museum, who all did their part to make the day a success for the Duve’s! You can find more pictures, and videos from the Duvé Wedding by following the hashtag #HereComeTheDuves.
